    Principal's Message

Shawswick Middle SchoolHere at Shawswick Middle School, we are happy that you are here!  Thank you for sending your student(s) each day.  Together, as a Farmer Family, our goal each day is safety, confidence, learning, and respect.

My name is Lucas Calhoun and I am honored to serve as the principal here at Shawswick Middle School! I start my tenure with over 16 years in education.  Earning my BS and MS degrees in Secondary Education and Higher Education from Indiana University, respectfully, I worked at the collegiate level before transitioning into the classroom.  After five-years as a teacher, club sponsor, and coach, I served as a Jr. High/High School principal before moving to North Lawrence Community Schools as eCoach helping with the district’s 1:1 technology initiative. I pledge to serve Shawswick Middle School with integrity, strong attention to school safety, and daily dedication to your student’s success.  Please do not hesitate to reach out to me at This email address is being protected from spambots.
